Why
Seriously why must the battery back ups of my smoke detectors decide they need changing at 1:30am? I could not stand the beeping so went outside and got the ladder. I knew I would be paranoid if I did not change it immediately. Oh and the refrigerator is not sounding so lovely either.

They do it for the same reason a cell phone will do it. They get annoyed that we try to rest during the nighttime. They are lonely, they need us.
I had to laugh because that is exactly what I would have done.
